Use the Advanced Search option in the Library's Search Everything tool.

Find biographies

1. In the first search box, put in the person's name
2. In the second search box, put in the word biography
3. Change the second box's drop-down option to SU Subject Terms
4. Click Search

Find autobiographies, memoirs, and works by the person

1. In the first search box, put in the person's name
2. Change the drop-down option to AU Author
3. In the second search box, put in the following words (including OR): person's name OR biography
4. Change second box's drop-down option to SU Subject Terms
5. Click Search

Limit to Books at Amherst

On the left side of the results screen, look for the Library Location filter and select Amherst College Frost Library.

1. In the first search box, enter the person's name
2. Change the drop-down option to SU Subject Terms
3. In the second search box, copy and paste the following: "archival resources" OR archives OR correspondence OR diaries OR interviews OR notebooks OR sketchbooks OR "personal narratives" OR photographs OR "pictorial works" OR sources OR speeches
4. Change the second box's drop-down option to SU Subject Terms
5. Click Search
